My Parihaka Peace Feather

In early November It was the parihaka day. Because it was a special day we decided to create a feather or a news report about what happened on the parihaka day. I made the feather. For this task I had to write 4+ words onto the feather. It was very simple. I enjoyed thinking of all the words relating to peace. But I also found thinking of the words a bit difficult. Do you know what happened on the parihaka day? If you do please let me know in the comments.

What is Service?

Kia Ora! Do you ever wonder what service is or how to show it? Well you are in luck! Last week my class created a poster about service. We did this as this school term our religious education focus is service.

For this awesome task we chose a poster from the templates or we chose a background and started from scratch. Then we added facts about how to show service.

I enjoyed animating the blue and orange people.

And I found formatting the words so they fit neatly onto the page difficult.

Do you know how to show acts of service? If you do please tell me in the comments!

Or make your own Canva service poster.

My 2021 Achievements

Last week our Cybersmart teacher Miss Torrie taught us how to use Canva. She taught us how to record a video then add it into an element like a T.V screen, laptop screen or a tablet/ipad screen. We learnt this so we can have more experience in animation and using neat sites to make posters and videos.

For this task we got to freestyle/playaround with our background, animation and elements. But we had to include: A video of ourselves, 3 achievements and at least some sort of animation.

I found thinking about the three achievements challenging and I enjoyed exploring the animations and elements because not only was it entertaining instead of boring we got to try new things which is always a amazing thing to do!

For this task we watched a video showing us how to make amazing origami cards.

I enjoyed this activity because I got to have fun drawing and got to test my origami skills.

I did not find anything challenging which is good because now I can easily create amazing cards.

Volcanic Eruption

Today we learnt how to either Blow up a balloon with vinegar and baking soda or yeast, Make a volcanic eruption or explode a lunch bag. I chose to do a volcanic eruption because I've always wanted to but I never knew how to and I only had the supplies to do the volcano.

For this exciting task I had to gather baking soda, dish soap and vinegar. Instead of making a volcano because the dirt was too stiff to dig in covered the bottle with leaves sticks and it was easy to grab dirt. I did not find anything challenging except taking the photos because of the sun and the big tree behind me.

Have you ever made a volcano or have you ever seen a live volcano?

For this task we watched a video on a nifty site called ScienceBob.com! Before

Busy Minds Puzzle!

Kia Ora Bloggers!

Today I did not learn that much. But I did learn that sea lions are very cute!

We did this puzzle to give our minds a break to relax.

For this task we had to do a puzzle about two sea lions lying down in the snow.

I enjoyed this task because it was relaxing and it kept me busy for 3-4 minutes.

The only challenging thing about this puzzle was when I tried to beat my time.

What is your favourite Antarctic animal?

The Language Of Bees And Other Insects Summary.

Kia Ora Bloggers!

This week my reading group (The Ruby Rhinos) did a summarizing activity about how bees and other insects communicate. We summarized the text because we did a science experiment about how bees vibrate to collect the pollen from flowers.

I think my learning went amazing because I got to learn a lot about how insects communicate and I also got to more about bees and ants.

I think that just getting the task done on time was challenging because we only started summarizing the text on wednesday.

What is a fact you know about bees or other insects?

We read a book on a site called Epic. Epic is a free reading site for kids with educational books and comic books!

I found all the riveting facts and information on a site called Kiddle which is a kidsafe search engine!

Have You Ever Seen A flying Water Bottle?

I think that the bottle will fly into the sky for a few seconds the shoot back down to the ground. I think this will happen because of the pressure from the air. I think it will go higher than the classrooms.

Have ever heard of a flying water bottle? Yes? No? Well i'm going to explain it to you in this short text.
Firstly you have to gather all the equipment which is The Aqua Pod, (A neon orange plastic launch pad) Plastic water bottle and a foot pump. You set up with the water bottle filled 1/3 of the way.

Secondly you hold the Aqua Pod upside down and attach the water bottle to the white and plastic valve. Then you attach the foot pump to the second Small and metal valve. After that you place the the Aqua Pod down on the ground with the bottle and foot pump attached then you start to pump the air into the bottle You pump around 8-12 Pumps of air into the bottle then you pull the string and see it fly.

Our Past, Our Present, Our Future.

We learnt about our past, present and future because it is good to learn about our past and how much has changed throughout the years.

This a slideshow with pictures showing the past and the present.

My learning went really well because it was very exciting to be able to see the huge difference between now and then.

The class didn't have to find information, we just had to figure out what was what and we had to find the images on the safe search which is on of all the slides you create.

Do You Know What A Covenant Is?

This week we were learning about what a covenant is in groups of 3-4. For example we learnt that a covenant is more a sacred deal with God and an agreement is not sacred.

I enjoyed learning about different Covenants with God because I got to learn some more things about Jesus and God that I did not know.

I found it challenging to find facts and information because there was only one video to learn off.

My digital learning object shows that I am able to use different colours, fonts and use templates.

Next time I will use a different template because yellow and blue over and over again is a bit boring.

The materials we used were. Black paper. A skewer. A pencil. White paper. And some tape.

First things first we folded our black paper. Then we traced out a heart onto our cards then we poked holes with a skewer. Then we taped string onto our skewers then threaded the string through the holes.

Maybe now you can make one for one of your loved ones

My Mostly Clean Bedroom

This week my my class was learning how to do a descriptive piece of writing. I enjoyed writing about my room because my room had just been renovated and this writing  was a easy way to help me to explain it to others.

My Mostly Clean bedroom

My favourite part of my bedroom is my two windows pointing in opposite directions, one pointing out to the road and the other out to the mountains. I love walking into my room in the afternoon because there is always a soft pink glow from the sunset.

I have two beds in my squarish bedroom on each side of my large window. Nextdoor is a field with vegetables and when they are ready to be picked or sprayed you can always hear the tractors cruising past.

In my room I have a white closet filled with books and old toys Next to my closet is a black four drawer dresser. When I'm bored I like to hide in my closet and play roblox, homescapes or watch tiktoks.

My sister loves the lighting in my room and she says I have to keep it clean for the guests because my room is at the end of the hall so everyone can see it. My dad thinks that my room is tidy but he dislikes it when I leave my clothes all over the floor. When I'm not at my dad's house I'm at my mum's house and my dad shuts my bedroom door so when he opens it when i'm not there a big cloud of warm air blows into his face. But I think it is clean.

I have two main smells in my room. One of the smells is my fresh coconut deodorant. And the other smell is the food I sneak into my room.

I love my room because it is mostly tidy. It has the best view of the sunset and it is perfect for me.

My Anzac Postcard

This week my class has been making a anzac postcards. We had to listen to a story, read books and watch videos.

We had to write a postcard from Len's or Stan's perspective. I chose Stan.

I found it challenging to write a postcard from Stan's perspective because the book was more about what was happening at war instead of about his family and friends

Sea week slides

For the past few weeks we have been working on our sea week slides.

I enjoyed making my sea week slides because we had to learn heaps of facts and information about our sea creature. And now I know lots of facts about whales.

I found making my sea week slides difficult because we had to learn 10 facts and there wasn't that much on the Young ocean explores site.

Next time I would change the background colors to make them look more colorful.

If you like my art please leave a kind and caring comment

Michelle fleur inspired me and my class to make this art and I hope it inspires you to.
